Which brings to mind this question: which UN resolution, exactly, 'allowed' Britain to attack the Falkland Islands, China to control Tibet, the French to **** around on the Ivory Coast, etc, etc, etc?
If there are big problems with front line deployment then the Brits will probaly be used for mopping up and rear area operations, releasing US personnel for the frontal stuff.
We've probaly got the best troops in the world for uban work in conquered cities/towns.
30-40 years of Northern Ireland has gived the army a pile of urban experience that most other countries dont even come close to.
Also, Im pretty sure that a few unpublicised operations will take place, for essential security purposes only of course, and to save allied lives in emergency situations etc etc, if you get my drift.
The Falklands was like an invasion of Hawaii.
We might have stolen the place from its rightful owners to start with (like Hawaii), but we still regard it as one of our territories.
